Commissioner Pearson's 100 Day Plan
Mike Pearson has the plan to reverse years of road neglect in District 2. He campaigned for your vote on a platfrom of incorporating major policy changes to give control back to the people and better funds roads. Now he is keeping his word to go to work for the people. Here is his 100 day plan.
1. Introduce proposals to allow the Commission meetings to be televised, allow a portion of our property taxes to be used for paving roads instead of just being used to grow county government, and once again give District 2 equal footing in the amount of funds that we receive for road maintenance.
2. Ask that the County Commission conduct a review of county assets and sell all unnecessary assets in order to establish an endowment for the maintenance of county roads.
3. Establish a loss protection policy requiring the inventory of District 2 assets. This will bring District 2 into compliance with the law and allow taxpayers to know if their money is being wasted.
4. Develop a customer service oriented basic maintenance program. No longer will District 2 residents experience the frustration of unanswered and unreturned calls from the county barn.
5. Put in place a new pavement funding program like that of Logan County District 1, whose plan has enabled them to pave miles of roadway by aggressively seeking outside funding, while right in District 2, very little new paving has occurred.
